The Whiting surname is generally thought to have originated in England during the middle ages.

One source links the surname with the whiting fish that is especially abundant in the North Sea on the East Coast of Britain. Because of that link we have chosen this image as our logo, which is a play on the surname.
Significant concentrations of the Whiting surname exist in only five countries. It appears the name originated in England and then migrated to the following countries during the English colonization period: the United States of America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
